Showing kindness each day is one of the easiest and most rewarding things you can do for your wellbeing. It’s an instant mood booster, guaranteed to put you in a positive frame of mind.

Plus, kindness is catching – When you’re shown good will, it makes you want to pay it forward.

Try practicing one act of random kindness a day: Give an authentic compliment. Write a thank you note. Leave a positive review on social media. Shout your colleague or buy a ‘suspended coffee’ (many cafes offer this option to pre-purchase a coffee for someone in need). Donate some spare change. Smile. 

Model good behaviours like letting someone in to traffic, holding a door open, or picking up a piece of rubbish.

Reach out to someone who’s doing it tough. See if there’s anything you can do to help lighten the load for them, even if it’s just lending an ear or giving them a hug.

Everyone has a lot on their plate, and everyone has been through tough times. Showing a little bit of kindness can really lift someone’s day and let them know they’re not alone. And it feels great!
