Raising Happy and Resilient Teens is a talk that gives parents the skills, knowledge and strategies they need to raise healthy teens.
Adolescence is a time of great change, when young people take on new roles and responsibilities, renegotiate relationships with adults, peers and the community and experiment with things symbolic of adult life. These developmental tasks are often accompanied by the adoption of risk-taking behaviours that compromise health. In fact, research shows that 1 in 4 secondary school students have mental health problems.
This talk takes the anxiety out of parenting and promotes skills and strategies to help your children through adolescence and promote wellbeing and resilience.
Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s highest profile psychologists, author of 17 books, broadcaster and a specialist in parenting, children, adolescents and the use of technology to promote mental wellbeing. He is looking forward to talking to the parents of Toowoomba on Monday the 23rd March and giving them the very latest evidence-based strategies drawn from 30 years of clinical practice and share some tips from his two latest books (2020) Starting Secondary School and Suriving Year 12.
Books will be available for purchase at the event and Michael will be available for book signing.
Please note this is an adults-only event.
